Free sex!

So, once again I’m here begging for love and acceptance. No worries. I’m offering to give something in return.

Free sex! Well, kinda.

Hop on over to Goodreads to enter my contest to win a free signed copy of The Rebound. Yup, it’s an oldie but goody about…well, let’s just be blunt…sex. The Rebound is all about the sex, and I’m just giving it away.

My mother would be so ashamed.

Sometimes it just takes a little motivator (like finally seeing green grass) to get those “someday” projects going. My “someday” project for this spring? The raised vegetable gardens I’ve been begging Mr. Mancini to get done for me.

Okay, so he isn’t exactly doing them the way I asked. I’d love if they were lifted off the ground and I didn’t have to hurt my poor back and knees by digging into them…and instead of building them with the cheap supplies I listed for him from the lumberyard, he just gave in and bought some overpriced ones from Home Depot…but, hey, beggers can’t be choosers and I have definitely been begging for this.

The boxes arrived Friday and have yet to be constructed ,but considering this is the first week we are forcasted to NOT have snow in a very long time, I’m not too worried yet. I also usually buy starter plants because I’m not so great at remembering to water ground without a plant sticking up and reminding me that it’s there.

So, no fear yet. However, it is lingering in the back of my mind. I love my husband, but he isn’t known for his speed and agility at getting home projects done. Even so, I hold hope, for one day (hopefully soon) the purchased raised beds will get unpacked and put together and I, Emilia Mancini, will have a nice looking vegetable garden instead of the mess that that is surrounded by fencing poles and sagging chicken wire that I have now.

Since you were so kind as to stop by and listen to my woes, I’d love to give you a chance to win an e-copy of my latest release Seducing Kate.

It was lust at first sight for Kyle when he met his roommate Justin’s mother Kate. Kyle, a college transfer, was too far from home toseducingkate-510 (1) visit on short school breaks, so Justin took him to Minneapolis where his mother was serving up a family meal for Thanksgiving.

One look left Kyle with a healthy obsession for Kate which grew with each visit. When he landed an internship in Minneapolis, he moved in with Kate for the summer, and got in touch with his voyeuristic side. It wasn’t until one late evening and a few too many glasses of wine that Kyle began to suspect his attraction wasn’t one-sided.

When he dared to push the issue, he found Kate more than willing to succumb to his seduction.

Prize winners!

I apologize for the delay in getting the prize winner’s posted. Last night I went to my first hockey game. It was not quite what I expected.

I was imagining drunken crowds, testosterone so thick you could smell it, and men on skates bashing each other’s teeth out.

Nope. The crowd was calm, the testosterone was moderate, and there were a few slams against the Plexiglas, but no bashing.

Disappointed? A little. But it was still fun. I’d do it again.

Though my friend and I determined that perhaps Women’s Roller Derby is more out speed. We’re going try that later this spring.

However, you are here for much more interesting news….who, oh who, is going to win that sexy little Silk Rope Set?

I’m picking two winners today (actually the hubs is pulling name out of hat):

The winner of the Silk Rope Set and an e-copy of Seducing Kate is:

And the runner up, earning an e-copy of Seducing Kate is:

Allie Ritch

Thank you to everyone who helped me celebrate Seducing Kate’s release and to all the hosts who let me stop and talk about my lovely little book.

Marci Boudreaux’s new release

Most of you know I write under two names. Me, Emilia, the smexy smutter, and Marci Boudreaux, the sweet romancer.

Well, the sweet romancer, Ms. Boudreaux is looking down the barrel of release day. Tomorrow her log suffering manuscript, The Messenger, will finally face the public.

I’m going to step into Marci’s shoes here and let her tell you about it.  Take it away, mini-me!

The Messenger is a sweet romance by Marci Boudreaux, written over ten years ago, and finally being released April 9 via Secret Cravings Publishing.

I wrote The Messenger just over ten years ago. I was still riding high on winning third place for unpublished manuscript in a Texas Writers’ League contest. Unfortunately, the world didn’t love the book as much as I did. After numerous rejections, I put it on the shelf and only recently pulled it off to give it another go.

It needed lots of work.  Let me say that again: It needed A LOT of work!!  Head hopping, showing not telling, repetitive writing…just to name a few.

But I was determined, so I cleaned it up, offered it up and it was accepted by Secret Cravings Publishing. I knew it still needed more polishing and scrubbing, so I turned to some great author friends—Vonnie Hughes, Sloane Taylor, and Parker Kincade all had a peek at it—to help me get my head on straight and attack this as an editor instead of a sentimental writer. I also had two nurses take a look just to make sure the medical records bit was in line with what goes on inside a hospital today.

With their help I was able to rework this story that I’ve loved for so long into something that I hope you will love too!

Evelyn Thomas is tired of being treated like a little girl playing dress-up. Just because she is working at her father’s newspaper doesn’t mean she isn’t a good journalist. All she needs is a chance to prove it.

Unfortunately for seasoned reporter Wes Reilly, that chance turns out to be the exact same story he’s working on.

When the journalists get separate leads on the same insurance scam, they butt heads over who gets to expose it. However, when Eve’s source ends up in ICU she has no choice but to turn to Wes for help.

Every step they take brings them closer towards the truth and each other. But the path to vindication is filled with danger and leaves Wes and Eve struggling to get out of sticky situations and fighting for their lives.

Eve ran her hand along one of the many rows and skimmed the file tags until she got close to the numerical prefix she was looking for. She pushed the files as far apart as the overstuffed shelf allowed and tilted her head down to get a closer look.  She went over each name, not finding any files which corresponded with names on the list Jerry had given her.

This was impossible, like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. She pulled a piece of paper from her shirt pocket to verify the spelling of the name before she pushed the folders apart again in case she had missed what she was looking for the first time.

Suddenly a hand roughly grabbed her shoulder. She spun around, her heart racing and her lungs tight with the gulp of air she had involuntarily inhaled. As soon as she met the angry gaze of the man who had startled her, she let her breath out with a rush and sank against the wall of folders.

Wes pressed his lips together and flexed his jaw muscles as he stared at her. “What are you doing here?”

She looked at the white coat he was wearing with a badge which identified him as Dr. Henderson. “What are you doing here?”

Wes leaned down to get eye-to-eye with her. “Answer me, Thomas.”

“I’m following a lead.”

“What lead?”

“I don’t have to share my stories with you.”

“Your story?”

He snorted as he leaned back. “Exactly what story would that be? How to properly file medical records?”

She felt the sting of his words go straight to her heart. Defiance set in and she stood a little straighter. “Insurance fraud.”

Wes stared at her for several seconds. He may have been trying to intimidate her, but his glare had nothing on her father’s. She simply cocked her brow in return.

“That’s my story,” he said.

Eve shook her head. “No. I got this tip on my own, Reilly, and if you think you’re going to steal it away from me—”

“Steal it away from you? I’d like to know where you got your tip ’cause I’ve been on this story since last week. You are so unbelievably—”

Eve raised her brows when he stopped mid-sentence and turned his head away. “I’m so unbelievably what?”

“Shut up,” he breathed. Her mouth opened and Wes put his hand over her lips. “Hush.”

Eve gasped when she was quiet long enough to hear footsteps. She grabbed his wrist and pulled his hand away. “What do we do?”

On this day in history…

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since The Rebound was release. That’s right, folks, one year ago today..April 2, 2012…I officially became a published author.

Happy birthday, my sweet little first release!

Happy birthday, my sweet little first release!

Okay, maybe that isn’t a huge deal, but it feels like it.  A lot has happened in the last year, on my end anyway. I am writing the synopsis right now for Seducing Kate and trying to determine where to submit.

I have joined the amazing ladies of Love, Lust, and Laptops to provide great entertainment, free reads, and some amazing guest interviews.

This was the first, but won't be the last, release from the Love, Lust, and Laptops ladies. It is now available for download as an anthology.

I have learned an immeasurable amount about publishing, editing, and the process of writing. I thought I was a good writer before, but this year has transitioned me into something so much more. I’m an editor, a video producer, a supporter, and a friend to some great authors.  This year has been amazing. It has been so much more than I could have ever asked for and I am looking forward to the next year, and what Seducing Kate has to offer.

I hope you’ll stick around for another year, more releases, and more free reads.

All my best!

Here’s a little something to tempt you into entering:

She watched him sit across from her, easing back in the chair in the way that he does when he simply wanted to watch her. “You’re not eating any of this?”

“Not out of a bowl.”

Casi grinned before sticking her finger in the whipped cream and holding it out to him. He leaned forward, sucked it clean, and then fell back again. “How was your day?” she asked, reaching for a button on her blouse.

“Good. Yours?”

“Did you watch me?”

“You know the answer to that by now.”

A smile touched her lips as she opened her shirt. “But I like when you tell me.”

Conner lowered his eyes to her bra, red and embroidered intricately, enticing him to touch it. “I watched you tonight.”

“What did you think?”

“I think that most people would be appalled to know that I jack off watching the news.”

Laughter erupted from her as she tossed her shirt aside. “Yeah, you should probably keep that to yourself.”

When she stood and turned her back to him he reached up, eased the zipper of her skirt down and watched it fall. She kicked it aside as she met his gaze, demanding that he look at her as she released her bra. She dropped it and then slid down her panties and stepped out of them.

She hopped on the table in front of him, put a red stiletto heel on either side of his chair and spread her legs wide. From behind her, she pulled the banana split toward her and laid back. With a spoon, she scooped out a chunk of ice cream and dropped it on her stomach.

Conner grinned, watching her abdomen jerk in response to the cold. The frozen ball settled on her belly button and by the time she dug out toppings, it was starting to melt and run down her sides. He was tempted as hell, but he sat back, watching her create a treat for him.

When she was done, she lifted the cherry from her dessert, and dropped it on the pile of ice cream and whipped topping on her stomach. Looking at him, she smirked. “Bon appétit.”
